The Plaza at Gale Ranch

New Shopping Center, named The Plaza at Gale Ranch, is now Open for Dougherty Valley Residents. Grocery shopping, banking and dining have just become more convenient for residents of Windemere, San Ramon’s premier master-planned community.

Located at the corner of Dougherty Valley and Bollinger Canyon Roads, the new Safeway opened in August 2007.In addition to all the convenient features such as deli, bakery,butcher shop and abundant produce department, the new Safeway offers a sushi bar, organic and natural foods,seafood department, a pharmacy and a gas station.

The expansive 125,000 square foot, 12.5-acre plaza, owned by Shapell Homes, is the latest addition to the DoughertyValley Ranch area in San Ramon. Residents who have moved into the surrounding neighborhoods will now be able to shop for groceries just a mile west of Windemere.

Safeway also provides groceries online through Safeway.com,a “virtual store” featuring more than 30,000 items. Once an order is placed, a “personal shopper” hand-selects the order and a driver brings it right to your home for a small delivery fee.

Other tenants in the new shopping center will include Peet’s Coffee and Tea, Wells Fargo Bank, Union Bank, Gale Ranch Dental, Ascona Pizza Company, Fat Cactus Grill and a two-story office building. Parking which is planned for approximately 575 vehicles, includes underground spaces.
