Chill Plans for Cool Dads: Father’s Day in the Tri-Valley
Easy & Fun Father’s Day Ideas in the Tri-Valley
Father’s Day is coming up, and if you’re still figuring out how to celebrate, don’t worry—we’ve got you. Whether your dad’s the outdoorsy type, a beer lover, or just likes to relax and hang out, there’s something fun to do right here in the Tri-Valley.
⛳ Golf, Anyone?
If your dad’s into golf (or even if he just enjoys being outside), book a tee time at a local course like The Bridges Golf Club or Canyon Lakes Golf Course in San Ramon. Or head over to Livermore to play a round at Poppy Ridge Golf Course or The Course at Wente Vineyards. It’s a chill way to spend the morning—and hey, even if the game’s a little off, the views totally make up for it.
🍺 Hit the Beer Trail
There are a bunch of local breweries in the area, and the Tri-Valley Beer Trail makes it easy (and fun) to try a few. There are 23 craft breweries, taprooms, and alehouses in Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and Danville participating in the tri-valley beer trail. Go to: https://visittrivalley.com/activities-and-things-to-do/passport-beertrails/ to plan out your trail. Download the passport, sample a few brews, and enjoy the day at your own pace. Visit 10 and you’ll win prizes, but you don’t have to visit them all of the same day. Your beer trail adventure can continue well after Father’s Day!
🎣 Go Fish
If you’re looking for something more low-key, fishing at Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore or Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area in Pleasanton are solid options. Bring some snacks, cast a line, and just hang out by the water for a few hours. Simple, peaceful, and dad-approved. Just make sure you get a fishing license and read the park rules and regulations.
🥾 Take a Hike
Want to get a little fresh air? Go for a hike at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park in Pleasanton or Las Trampas Wilderness Regional Preserve in Danville. You don’t have to do anything too intense—just get outside, chat, and enjoy the scenery. It’s quality time, minus all the planning.
👟 Make It Your Own
The best part? You can mix and match any of these. Morning golf, a lunch stop at a brewery, and a quick hike before sunset? Sounds like a pretty great day.
No fancy gifts required—just a little time together and a plan that feels easy and fun. Happy Father’s Day!
