Spooktacular and Fall Festive Events

Halloween is brewing all across the Bay Area.  We've gathered a list of events happening in Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore & more.  So whether you are looking for terrifying thrills, flashlight cemetery tours, or family friendly celebrations, there's always something happening in the Bay Area for everyone.  Check out these Fall and Halloween events to enjoy!

1. Festival Fright Nights at Winchester Mystery House

What to expect:
This brand new experience will have you stepping back into the past of Halloween 1924. Two years after Sarah Winchester died.  This world-famous mansion transforms into a fully immersive Halloween experience and you’ll experience Act 1: the Masquerade of Shadows as you twist and turn through the mansion in a 1920’s masquerade.  Going to Act 2: the Root of All Evil, you’ll venture into the gardens and greenhouse as you realize they are watching you from the trees.  And ending at Act 3: the Final Descent you’ll be led into the forbidden back mansion where shadows conceal restless spirits.  You can also add on additional experiences during Fright Night.  

Tip: Tickets are limited, and must be purchased online only. The atmosphere can be intense, so this one is best for teens and adults.

 

2. Pleasanton Harvest Festival

What to expect:
Celebrating its 53rd year, the Harvest Festival is a premier Arts and Crafts fair with a vast collection of local makers and small businesses.  You’ll find hundreds of artisans showcasing their unique handmade goods, gourmet foods, and holiday gifts. The festival offers live music, kid zone with family activities, and a joyful seasonal spirit that captures the heart of fall.

Tip: Visit early in the day for easier parking and a relaxed shopping experience.

 

3. Kidz Town Halloween Hay Day

What to expect:
This FREE family-friendly event is designed for kids ages 5th grade and under.  Quest Science Center will have hands-on outdoor spooky science activities for kids to explore.  There will be a kids costume contest for kids who are creative and original (costumes must be 70% handmade).  There will be live music, games and trick-or-treating at local participating businesses along First St, Second St, S. Livermore Ave., Railroad Ave, South J St and South K St.  Volunteers will be handing out maps so you can find the participating businesses. 

Tip: Bring reusable treat bags and arrive early to enjoy the full experience.

 

4. Halloween zom-Brew Crawl in Downtown Pleasanton

What to expect:
This adults-only event invites you to dress up in your best costume and crawl through downtown Pleasanton while sampling craft local brews, food bites, and enjoying live music. The spookiest bars and stores will have 20+ bewitching brews as you adventurously crawl your way around the map to your next pint in downtown Pleasanton.  Enjoy a ghoulishly good time, eerie vibes and zombies.

Tip: Purchase tickets in advance and plan for a safe ride home.

 

5. Ghosts of Dublin

What to expect:
Take a flashlight tour through Dublin’s Historic Cemetery where Dublin’s buried past comes alive.  Hear haunting stories of ghosts thought to be lurking in Dublin including new recent experiences.  See ghostly images of long dead pioneers in Old St. Raymond Church and peek inside the Kolb House.  Come and enjoy some spooky fun in Dublin.

Tip: Plenty of tickets still available, they need to be purchased in advance.  Tour check-in starts in the middle of the park by the Sunday School Barn.  Tours departing from 7:30pm to 8:30pm are for those ages 8 and up.  Tours departing from 9pm to 10:30pm are for teens and adults.

 

6. Pirates of Emerson Haunted Theme Park

What to expect:
This is the 35th year and you’ll find 4 Terrifying Haunted Attractions and all tickets include games this year!  This is an extremely frightening walk-through adventure and designed to be equally terrifying for adults and teens.  They will have live bands playing, food, games and of course Haunted Attractions!

Tip: Age limitations, anyone under 16, must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older.  This is recommended for ages 13+.  Online tickets ONLY, timed entry ticked.
