We gathered a list of must-attend holiday events in the Tri-Valley.  Tree lightings, parades, festive holiday activities and more across Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, Danville, and San Ramon (Bishop Ranch).

City Center Bishop Ranch (San Ramon) and More

• Event: 2nd Annual Tree Lighting Celebration

• What to Expect: Live performances by the Monte Vista Band and other singers. Santa makes a grand arrival. Community gathering to kick off the holiday season.

• Kristi Yamaguchi Holiday Ice Rink: Celebrate the Season gliding through the ice skating rink located at the City Center Bishop Ranch (6000 Bollinger Canyon Road).  The ice rink is larger this year, and perfect for skaters of all ages and skill levels.  The ice rink will be running through January 4th.  Be sure to check their website for daily events, hours, and to purchase tickets (they recommend purchasing them online in advance).  Go to: https://citycenterbishopranch.ticketspice.com/city-center-ice-rink-2025 for all the details.

Livermore – Sights and Sounds Parade and Tree Lighting and More

• When: Saturday, December 6, 2025, starts at 6:00 PM
  
  
• Where: First Street, Downtown Livermore
  
  
• What to Expect: Holiday parade with floats, marching bands, and community groups. Tree lighting immediately after the parade, featuring a children’s choir and sing-along.

• Deacon Dave’s (Winner of 2024 America’s Great Light Fight):  Celebrating its 42nd year, this amazing display of holiday lights will have its opening day on Saturday November 29th at 6:30PM.  Located at 352 Hillcrest Ave., Livermore, CA 94550, entry to the display is free (donations are appreciated).  Visit their website at https://casadelpomba.com/ for hours and more information.

Pleasanton – Hometown Holiday Celebration and More

• When: Saturday, December 6, 2025, parade at 5:00 PM, tree lighting at approximately 6:45 PM

• Highlights: Parade with local floats, bands, and community groups. Tree lighting led by the Mayor and City Council, musical performances, and a special appearance by Santa.

• Downtown Magical Holiday Evening: Come to Division Street in Downtown Pleasanton on Friday, December 5th from 4PM to 7PM for Free Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus, Shopping at the Holiday Market (with over 30 Vendors), Decorate an Ornament at the Arts & Crafts Tables, Enjoy Hot Cocoa, Live Band Music, Snow Machine, Toy Drive & More.  Don’t miss this magical family friendly event in Downtown Pleasanton.
  
  
• Finding Frosty Scavenger Hunt:  Kids can embark on a scavenger hunt adventure in Downtown Pleasanton from December 5th to December 19th.  Pick-up your scavenger map with intriguing clues and delightful surprises at Five Little Monkeys Toy Store or Towne Center Books.  Your kids will embark on a fun-filled hunt to find Frosty and make some unforgettable memories.   

Dublin – Holiday Tree Lighting and More

• Tree Lighting Ceremony: Thursday, December 4, 2025, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  
• Where: Dublin Civic Plaza, 100 Civic Plaza, Dublin
  
• Details: Local school choirs and bands perform, then the lighting of a tall holiday tree.

• Letters to Santa: Children can write letters to Santa and drop them off in Santa’s Mailbox located inside City Hall (100 Civic Plaza) between Nov 24th to Dec 12th. Be sure to include your name, wish list, and home address so Santa can send a reply!
  
• “Deck the Homes” Holiday Home Decorating Contest: You can light up your home this holiday season bringing cheer and fun to your neighbors and the community.  Creatively decorate your home and enter it into the contest no later than December 5th.   A map of all participating homes will be available on the city’s website for the community to take self-guided tours throughout the season.
  
• Dublin Tree Lane: A new festive holiday tradition at the Dublin Civic Center.  Walk through trees decorated by families, individuals, schools, community groups and businesses.  Trees will be on display for the public to walk through and enjoy from December 4th through Dec 28th.  Tree decorators will compete for awards for the most creative, most enchanting, best community flair and people’s choice.

Danville – Lighting of the Old Oak Tree and More

• Elf Workshop: Sign up for an Elf Workshop on either December 12th and 13th at the Danville Community Center. There are four sessions available for kids ages 1 to 9.  Pre-registration is required, go to: www.danville.ca.gov/recguide to reserve your spot.  This is a magical hands-on crafting event with a chance to meet Santa for a festive photo.
