Fair Days & Summer Nights: What’s Happening at the Alameda County Fair
Summer’s Best Tradition: The Alameda County Fair Is Back!
If you’re from the Bay Area, you know summer doesn’t officially start until you’ve made a trip to the Alameda County Fair. From June 14th to July 7th, the Pleasanton fairgrounds are buzzing with energy, bringing together that nostalgic fair magic and some seriously fun new experiences.
Way More Than Just Rides
Of course, the carnival rides and midway games are a blast—we’re not skipping those! But there’s so much more to do. The Safeway Barn is a hands-on favorite for families and anyone curious about where our food comes from (and yes, there are animals to meet!). And don’t leave before sunset—the nightly drone shows are absolutely worth sticking around for. Just note: no show on July 4th, since the fair closes a bit early that day at 8 p.m.
Live Music Every Night
If live music is your thing, you’re in for a treat. The Big O Tires Concert Series is bringing a solid lineup of artists to the main stage every night at 8 p.m. Think names like Johnny Gill, Ashley Cooke, and Sonora Tropicana—there’s a sound for every vibe.
Wine Fest? Yes, Please!
Mark your calendar for June 28th — that’s Wine Fest day from 2–5 p.m., where you can sip your way through local wineries and enjoy the afternoon in style. It’s laid-back, social, and delicious.
Chill Out with Movies on the Lawn
After a full day of food, rides, and music, grab a blanket and catch a family-friendly movie on the lawn at 6 p.m. It’s the perfect wind-down to a day of fun.
Let’s Make It Happen
The fair runs Wednesday through Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a special early close on the 4th of July. To see the full schedule and grab your tickets, just head over to the official Alameda County Fair site.
